More than 1000 people have been reported missing in a California wildfire which has demolished thousands of homes and killed at least 71, nearby authorities have said.
The death toll on Friday was ascended to 63, eight days after the Camp Fire broke out in northern California.
However, the sharp increase in the missing list from 631 to 1011 in 24 hours may not be accurate.
“It was possible it contained duplications,” Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said
He told reporters that”I need you to comprehend this is a dynamic rundown”.
“The data I am giving you is raw information and we find there is the like possibility that the list contains copied names.”
